RSS (Radar System Simulator)
Project Description:
The focus oft this stud lies on the evaluation of different orbit determination approaches and in the area efficient database structures for processing and cataloguing purposes. One key aspect is the measurement value generator. It is used to derive realistic amounts of measurements of space (debris) objects from simulated sensor systems.
Number of generated tracklets as a function of the orientation of a sensor. |
Measurement Value Generator The measurement value generator is able to perform the following tasks:
|
The RPM is being developed by the Fraunhofer FHR.
Build-up of a catalogue is simulated over a timeframe of 3 months. |
Cataloguing The provided tracklets are further processed using orbit determination algorithms. The quality of the catalogue is monitored. The following aspects are covered in this part of the project:
One primary question to be answered in this study is the scalability of such a sensor system based on the number of simulated space objects and the amount of the in turn generated measurements. |
